How does the Refer-a-Friend program work?

It’s easy. Join the program by visiting https://www.MetrobyT-Mobile.com/refer-a-friend and enter your name, email and phone number. Once you’ve joined, you’ll see a unique link to share with your friends and family or use the internal sharing tools to start referring. You need to be a Metro customer for at least 30 days before being eligible to participate in the referral program.

Once referred, your friends will follow 4 simple steps:

  1. Click on their unique link unique link
  2. Enter their full name, email address and phone number they are bringing over
  3. Activate on a new account within 15 days of checking eligibility
  4. Bring their existing number (port-in). The number must be the same number you included in your referral, and the person you refer can’t have been a recent Metro by T-Mobile (within the past 180 days)

After they have been active for 65 days, we will send a $25 Virtual Prepaid MasterCard® Card to your email address for each new account you successfully referred. Please allow 1-2 business days after the referred friend or family completes the process for delivery. You can score up to $125 in a calendar year when you bring people over to Metro by T-Mobile.

Who is eligible for the Refer-A-Friend program?

To send referrals you must be a customer on Metro by T-Mobile for at least 30 days.

Do I get a $25 Prepaid MasterCard Card for every account that switches or for every line that switches?

You’ll receive a $25 Prepaid Virtual MasterCard® Card for each new qualifying customer you refer who activates a new account on Metro. You can score up to $125 each year when you bring people over to Metro by T-Mobile. Your referred friend needs to stay a customer for 65 days before you receive your $25 Prepaid Virtual Mastercard

Is there a limit on how many lines I can refer?

There is no limit on how many people you can refer. However, rewards are capped at $125 per year

Can I enter my referral at the same time my friend or family signs up for T-Mobile?

No, your friend or family must have accepted your referral prior to signing up for Metro by T-Mobile.

I’ve got a friend who had T-Mobile before and left, can I get credit for referring them back?

Yes! As long as they are not currently a Metro by T-Mobile, T-Mobile, or Sprint current customer. Prior Metro customers must not have been a Metro by T-Mobile customer for at least 180 days to be eligible

Can I refer friends and family from T-Mobile prepaid, Metro or Sprint?

No. To qualify for the Refer-a-Friend program, your referral must bring their existing number from another qualifying carrier which excludes current Metro, T-Mobile and Sprint customers.

How long do I have to join Metro by T-Mobile?

Once you have accepted your referral and registered, you have 15 days to complete your port-in (bring your number) and sign up for Metro by T-Mobile service for your friend to get the referral bonus for the year. Maximum number of customers referred is reset each year.

What if I am referred by multiple friends or family?

Referred friends and family can only accept 1 referral offer.

Can I refer someone I add on to my account?

No, to be eligible for the referral the referee must activate a new account on Metro by T-Mobile.

Can I refer someone who wants to bring their own phone?

Yes, the person you refer can either buy a new phone from Metro by T-Mobile or bring their own phone if it will work on the T-Mobile network. Either way you get your $25 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard® Card once they complete the referral requirements.

Once I activate my account, can I share the program with friends and family?

You can participate in the Metro Refer-a-Friend program after you are a customer for 30 days or more.
